圖一   $\;\overrightarrow c \;$ 是 $\;\overrightarrow a \;$ 的正射影 如圖一所示，若 $\overrightarrow c = t \;\;\overrightarrow {b}\;$ 且 $(\;\overrightarrow a - \;\overrightarrow c\;\;)\; \bot \;\overrightarrow b\;$，則 $\;\overrightarrow c\;$ 稱為 $\;\overrightarrow a\;$ 在 $\;\overrightarrow b\;$ 上的 正射影 (Orthogonal Projection)。而 $\;\overrightarrow c\;$ 與 $\;\overrightarrow a\;$ 、$\;\overrightarrow b\;$ 的關係如下：   $proj_{\;\overrightarrow b\;}(\;\overrightarrow a\;) = \;\overrightarrow c \;= \frac{(\;\overrightarrow a \;\cdot \;\overrightarrow b\;)\;\overrightarrow b\;}{|\; \overrightarrow b\; |^2} $
